History of Candles
Candles have been used for thousands of years with candle use dating as early as the 10th century B.C. Many people believe the first candles were designed and used by the ancient Egyptians who used torches and rush lights. It was the Romans who further developed candles by creating wicks and making their candles a much safer alternative to the torch.
Candles, which were produced from fat rendered from sheep and cattle, were very popular until the middle ages. Then bee's wax was discovered. Unfortunately, this was quite expensive.
During the 18th century, it was found that crystalizing Sperm Whale Oil made a superior, harder wax that burned for a longer time.
Finally, parrafin wax was discovered. It is a by-product of the petroleum refinery industry, a leftover of refined petroleum. Today, the demand for all natural soy candles is becoming the healthy alternative.
Soy Wax
The soybeans used in Natural Soy Candles come from rich fertile soils in domestically grown crops. They go through a process where the oil is separated from the bean. Then that crude oil is purified to give a pristine soybean oil. the soybeans then go through a process called hydrogenation, which turns the pure vegetable oil into a solid. Unlike other soy waxes on the market, the soy wax used is 100% vegetable guaranteed. There ar no bee's wax, paraffin or petroleum products hidden in it. Soy wax is free from pesticides, herbicides, and genetically modified material; it contains NO toxic materials and is all NATURAL and biodegradable.
Soy waxes are a non-petroleum renewable recourse, which promotes the growth and care of our environment while burning crisp and clean with a gentle, natural glow. Using natural soy candles is a safer alternative to paraffin wax and helps to support the agricultural economy rathan than the large oil conglomerates.
Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax, therefore burns cooler and for a longer period of time.
